Matthew Woodson (aka Ghostco)

About: "Matthew Woodson was born and raised in the pit of snakes known as rural Southern Indiana. After graduating from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in early 2006 with a focus in Natural History Illustration, Matthew’s obsessive loves for natural history and the past were stronger then they had ever been. Fresh out of school Matthew was commissioned by Margeotes, Fertitta & Partners New York to illustrate the Perry Ellis Fall/Winter 2006 campaign, and has been working as a fulltime freelance illustrator ever since."

Massimo Gurnari

About Massimo Gurnari: "Born in Milano in 1981. Currently living and working in Milano. High school diploma from Hajech school in Milano. Enrolled in a painitng course at Brera Accademy 1999. He leaves the course before the dissertation due to the low level of the lecturers and the frustrating atmosphere of the class. In 1995 he starts his painting career in the best possible school: the street. During this experience he gets in touch with the new pioneers of the “graffiti style” in Italy and he makes his first tag under the nick name of “MICRO”. This style is still part of the Gurnari artististic mood. This real street experience and the themes of art history melt together in the Gurnari’s work, with a clear POP matrix that mantains a background of “classical sign”. Currently Gurnari’s inspiration is focused on the contamination from old vintage images of the tatoos designs, furniture design from the 60′s and the 70′s, scripts and animals… All his work is aimed to create a big box of memorabilia where present and past can co-exists."

Shell

Street Art from Israel by Shell.

About " I create a hand cut out works on black vinyl stickers. I spent most of my time reducing material instead of adding. After years I used to take a blank white format and add stuff until I’m satisfied. I wanted to turn the tables and try to start exactly from the other side. Still trying to achive a discussion with the contrast between black and white. Way to subtract the difference between the full and complete material of his leftovers. Born in Herzliya Israel, and grew up in an Orthodox Hassidic religious values until the age of ten, then my life began to change drastically due to my parents’ divorce. At first I was looking for an alternative to the ultra-Orthodox life value. it gives me the opportunity to express the things I want to. I felt a loss of identity and i could not ignore the strong desire to create hands formulated in my own way to express visually. With early deficits difficult Hyperactivity with inability to distinguish between decoration and vandalism, I try to take the whole and make it more human, more deficiency. Thanks for your time"
